Specific work carried out by Timber Loving Care Ltd may also be subject to the terms, scope, pricing and conditions set out in the relevant quotation, proposal or other written agreement.

2. Using this website
You may use this website for lawful purposes and to obtain information about Timber Loving Care Ltd and our services.
You must not use the website in any way that could damage, disable or impair its operation, interfere with another person’s use of the website, introduce malicious software or breach any applicable law.
We may update, change, suspend or withdraw all or part of the website where reasonably necessary.
3. Information on this website
We take reasonable care to ensure that the information published on this website is accurate, clear and useful.
However, information relating to timber protection, restoration, repair, fire protection, UV protection, weather protection, maintenance and associated services is provided for general information only.
Every property, timber installation and project is different. Factors including timber species, age, condition, previous treatments, exposure, construction, access and project requirements may affect the most appropriate solution.
Information on this website should therefore not be treated as a project-specific specification, professional survey, guarantee or quotation.
4. Enquiries and assessments
You may contact Timber Loving Care Ltd to discuss your property or project and, where appropriate, arrange an assessment.
Information or recommendations provided during an initial enquiry may be preliminary and may change following inspection of the timber, property or relevant project information.
Where we describe an initial assessment as free, this relates to our normal assessment process. If a particular project requires specialist testing, reports, surveys or other chargeable services, we will explain this before those services are commissioned.
Submitting an enquiry or arranging an initial assessment does not oblige you to proceed with any work.
5. Quotations and proposals
Following an assessment or discussion of your requirements, we may provide a written quotation or proposal.
Unless otherwise stated, quotations are based on the information and conditions reasonably known to us when they are prepared.
A quotation or proposal may set out:
- the scope of work;
- the proposed treatment, restoration or repair approach;
- materials or systems to be used;
- access requirements;
- estimated timescales;
- pricing and payment arrangements;
- assumptions and exclusions; and
- other project-specific requirements or conditions.
A quotation does not create an obligation for Timber Loving Care Ltd to carry out work until it has been accepted in accordance with its stated terms and any required deposit or other agreed conditions have been satisfied.
Quotations may remain valid only for the period stated on them.
6. Scope of work
The work we agree to carry out will be defined by the applicable quotation, proposal or other written agreement.
Any work or service not expressly included in that agreed scope should not be assumed to be included.
If the agreed scope changes, or additional work becomes necessary, we will discuss this with you and explain any material effect on price, timing or the proposed method of work.
7. Timber condition and existing surfaces
Timber is a natural material and its condition can vary considerably.
Weathering, moisture, previous coatings, contamination, biological growth, movement, hidden damage, decay and other conditions may not always be apparent before preparation or work begins.
We will take reasonable care when assessing existing timber, but an initial visual inspection cannot always identify concealed defects or predict precisely how existing timber will respond to cleaning, preparation, restoration, repair or treatment.
If previously unidentified issues become apparent during the work, we will explain their likely effect on the project and discuss any recommended additional work before carrying out material changes to the agreed scope.
8. Natural variation and appearance
Timber naturally varies in colour, grain, texture and weathering.
Cleaning, restoration, repair and protective treatment may significantly improve the appearance and condition of timber, but we cannot guarantee that existing timber will become completely uniform or identical to new timber.
Different elevations, replacement sections, repairs and areas with differing levels of previous exposure may retain some visual variation.
The final appearance can also be influenced by timber species, age, condition, previous coatings and the treatment system selected.
9. Fire protection treatments
Where fire protection treatment forms part of the agreed work, the appropriate system will be selected with regard to the particular timber, project requirements and relevant product or manufacturer information.
Treatment will be applied in accordance with the agreed specification and applicable manufacturer instructions.
The performance of a fire protection system may depend on factors including the substrate, preparation, quantity applied, environmental exposure, subsequent alterations, damage and ongoing maintenance.
Any specific certification, classification, technical performance or compliance requirement applicable to a project should be confirmed in the relevant quotation, specification or supporting documentation rather than inferred solely from general information on this website.
10. UV, weather and protective treatments
UV and weather protection systems are intended to help protect exterior timber and reduce the effects of exposure and weathering.
The appearance, performance and lifespan of a protective treatment may vary depending on timber species, existing condition, orientation, exposure to sunlight and weather, preparation, maintenance and the particular treatment system used.
No exterior timber treatment can prevent all natural colour change, movement, weathering or deterioration indefinitely.
Where ongoing inspection, maintenance or reapplication is recommended, following that guidance will help maintain the condition and appearance of the treated timber.
11. Timber restoration and repair
Where restoration or repair forms part of the agreed work, our aim is to improve and preserve existing serviceable timber where reasonably practical.
The level of restoration achievable will depend on factors including the timber species, age, condition, deterioration, previous coatings and environmental exposure.
In some circumstances, damaged or deteriorated timber may need to be repaired or replaced rather than restored.
Where this becomes apparent after work has begun, we will discuss the recommended approach with you before undertaking material additional work.
12. Access and scaffolding
Customers are responsible for providing reasonable access to areas where an assessment or agreed work is to take place.
Depending on the property and project, scaffolding, access towers, lifting equipment or other specialist access may be required.
Where access arrangements are included within our quotation, this will be identified as appropriate.
If access restrictions or previously unknown site conditions result in additional work, equipment, delays or costs, we will discuss these with you as soon as reasonably practical.
13. Site conditions and customer responsibilities
You agree to provide information that is reasonably accurate and complete when requesting an assessment, quotation or service.
You should tell us about matters that may reasonably affect the project, including known defects, previous treatments, access restrictions, relevant building requirements or other work taking place at the property.
You should also ensure that we have appropriate permission to access and carry out the agreed work at the property.
Any additional responsibilities specific to a project will be set out in the relevant quotation or agreement.
14. Changes and additional work
If you request changes to the agreed work, we may need to revise the price, programme, materials or method of work.
Additional work may also become necessary because of conditions that could not reasonably have been identified before work began.
Where this occurs, we will explain the proposed change and any material effect on cost or timing.
Material additional work will not normally be undertaken without your agreement.
15. Timescales
We will make reasonable efforts to carry out agreed work within any stated or estimated timescale.
Exterior timber work can be affected by matters including weather, temperature, moisture, drying conditions, access, product availability, other trades and circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Unless expressly agreed as a fixed contractual date, project dates and completion periods should be treated as reasonable estimates.
If delays occur, we will seek to keep you reasonably informed and minimise disruption where practical.
16. Prices and payment
The price of agreed work, together with any deposit, stage payments or final payment requirements, will be set out in the applicable quotation, invoice or written agreement.
Payments must be made in accordance with those agreed terms.
Any additional work agreed during a project may be charged separately.
Where applicable, prices will make clear whether relevant taxes or additional charges are included.
17. Cancellation
Cancellation rights and any applicable charges will depend on the nature of the customer, the services commissioned and the circumstances in which the agreement was entered into.
If you are acting as a consumer, you may have statutory cancellation rights in certain circumstances, particularly where a contract is entered into at a distance or away from our business premises.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions removes or restricts any cancellation or other statutory rights that you are entitled to under applicable consumer law.
Where relevant, project-specific cancellation arrangements will be explained in the applicable quotation, proposal or agreement.
18. Starting work during a cancellation period
Where you are a consumer and have a statutory cancellation period, we will comply with any applicable legal requirements relating to commencing services during that period.
If you expressly request that work begins before the cancellation period has ended, your rights and any amount payable for work already carried out may be affected in accordance with applicable law.
19. Quality of service
Timber Loving Care Ltd will provide its services with reasonable care and skill.
If you have a concern about work we have carried out, please contact us as soon as reasonably practical so that we have an opportunity to inspect the issue and, where appropriate, discuss a suitable resolution.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects the statutory rights available to you under UK consumer law.
20. Maintenance and aftercare
Exterior timber and protective systems may require ongoing inspection, cleaning, maintenance or periodic reapplication.
Where we provide maintenance or aftercare recommendations, customers should follow those recommendations to help preserve the condition, appearance and performance of the timber and any treatment applied.
We cannot be responsible for deterioration or reduced treatment performance resulting from failure to follow reasonable maintenance guidance, subsequent damage, alterations or circumstances outside our reasonable control, except where the law provides otherwise.
21. Third-party products and services
Some projects may involve products, manufacturers, contractors, subcontractors, scaffolding providers or other third parties.
Third-party products may also be subject to their own manufacturer’s specifications, conditions, maintenance requirements or warranties.
Where we appoint or manage third parties as part of the services we have expressly agreed to provide, our responsibilities will be determined by the applicable agreement and law.
We are not responsible for independent work or services commissioned directly by a customer from a third party and outside the scope of our agreed services.
22. Warranties and manufacturer information
Where a particular product or treatment carries a manufacturer warranty or other documented assurance, any applicable terms, limitations, maintenance requirements or exclusions associated with that warranty will apply.
No statement on this website should be interpreted as creating a separate warranty or guarantee unless that commitment is expressly confirmed in writing as part of the relevant project.
23. Our responsibility to you
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights.
Subject to those rights and applicable law, Timber Loving Care Ltd will not be responsible for loss or damage caused by inaccurate or incomplete information supplied to us, unauthorised alterations to completed work, failure to follow reasonable maintenance instructions, independent third-party work outside our agreed scope, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
24. Events outside our reasonable control
We will not be responsible for delay or failure to perform an obligation where this results from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Such circumstances may include severe weather, unsafe site conditions, supply disruption, transport disruption, failure of utilities, government restrictions or other events that could not reasonably have been avoided.
Where such an event affects a project, we will seek to communicate with you and resume the affected work as soon as reasonably practical.

30. Severability
